Australian Grand Champion

On the 1st of January 1998, the Australian National Kennel Council introduced the title of Australian Grand Champion to be awarded to all dogs which satisfied the requirements of 1000 Challenge Points (Ten times that needed for Australian Champion status) provided at least one of the Challenge Certificates contributing to those points is gained after 1st January 1998. Unfortunately many past champions are ineligible for this award due to this date requirement as they have passed away. Six of our dogs, four of them bearing our Heiderst prefix, fall under this category and will never be able to claim their title but are listed in 'Hall of Fame' under 'In Memory'. We feel they have more than earned the right to be honoured with their peers.

Sonny won his 5th All Breeds Best In Show at 6 1/2 years of age and Tilly confirmed her Grand Champion in style by winning the required post 1st January 1998 challenge by taking Best In Group at seven years of age. At the 1998 Adelaide Royal Show, Sonny took the dog CC and BOB, whilst Tilly was Res CC to Nikki. The following week at the Melbourne Royal, the largest dog show in the Southern Hemisphere, Tilly took bitch CC and BOB, while Sonny again took the dog CC.

We started showing Jade at 4½ yrs in August 2002.
She gained her title in 3 months and then completed her Grand title in September 2004.
She retired early in 2006 with a RUBIS under a GSP Specialist ~ Mr J Kearley from Canada.

Jade passed away in November 2006 and is sadly missed. She had a mind of her own and was a great show dog.
She was a very consistent winner, making her presence felt whether at home in SA or Interstate.
