Before I had dogs I had horses, in my early years, competing with a part Arab pony mare - 14 hands, who competed in Showjumping against the 16 & 17 hand horses. Her name was Gypsy Girl. She was a grey and could jump like a stag, competing with success, winning and placing in many Show Jumping events. I then had a 16.2 hand Thoroughbred mare, Conquistador, who was the Top Showjumper in SA in 1960, also competing successfully in Dressage and Eventing. "Con" was sold to Japan for the Olympic Games, being one of only two horses taken from Australia.
When I married Alex and had 2 children, Liat & Kahn, I then decided to do Obedience and bought a Shetland Sheepdog, Redheath Lady Shan CD, CDX, UD (Heidi) who was a fabulous worker and won SACA Top Obedience dog for 4 years running and is still the only dog to achieve full score of 200 points on five occasions.
In 1973 I purchased my first GSP, who became Dual Ch (R) Markheim Debonair CD, CDX, UD (Deb) and is the only GSP who has all of these titles and has a Certificate of Merit in All Age. Deb won Top Showing GSP 4 years running (GSPCSA), BIS Specialty show an dis the only Gundog to win Top Showing Gundog Bitch in Showing, Obedience and Retrieving - all in the one year (GCSA).
My first GSP litter was born in 1977. The "Heiderst" prefix was made up from my Sheltie's name (Heidi) and the German word for First (Erst). From this litter Ch Heiderst El Conquista (Quista) CD was Top Show Bitch for three years running and was the winner of two Novice Stakes, with placings in Restricted.
My third litter was born in 1980 from Quista, who produced the big winning duo 'Ch Heiderst Mi Rufian CD, CDX' - winner of two Novice Stakes, Top Showing GSP 5 years running, Top Showing Gundog on two occasions, a Royal BOB winner & the Supreme Champion at the prestigious 'Battle of the Champions' & was also the first GSP to be a member of the "Pal Super Dogs". "Ch Heiderst Mi Salamanca" - Top Showing GSP bitch on four occasions and a Royal winner, Sally was shown by my daughter Liat. Ch Heiderst Mi Juanita owned by R&J Bryant was also from this litter, winning Best of Breed at the Melbourne Royal. There were 5 champions from this litter.
By this time we were thoroughly taken over by this beautiful breed and have dedicated our time and life style to breeding and developing beautiful, sound and typical German Shorthaired Pointers.
We have CONSISTENTLY bred big winners and have sold some of our BEST to dedicated owners who have won BEST IN GROUP & BEST IN SHOW, with many also becoming GRAND CHAMPIONS in the process.

Liat loved the dogs, right from the start. She competed in Obedience with Heidi's daughter - Heiderst Kiss Me Kate CD, CDX, UD (Katie), also winning Champion Novice Obedience Dog at the SACA Championship at the age of 13 years. Liat won many Handler Classes in top competition and is considered to be one of the Best Handlers in Australia.
Liat handled Ch Heiderst Mi Rufian CD, CDX and Gr Ch Heiderst Peer Gynt through to their Supreme Champion wins at the 'Battle Of The Champions' and handles all of our Big Winners.
Liat loves her Vizslas and owned and handled one of Australia's Top Winning Vizslas 'Gr Ch Hanafor Master Callaway' (Bogart).
